Physical modeling applied to the calibration of the Manning's coefficient for simulations of sedimentation in reservoirs

When reservoirs are built, they subject to some degree of sedimentation. This happens because the increase in wetted area reduces flow velocity. As a result, sustaining forces sediments diminished. One mechanism assess reservoir sedimentation is through physical models, which provide data for numerical models. parameters that needs be input into model Manning coefficient. Thus, aim this study was calibrate coefficient reservoir. For purpose, reduced Small Hydroelectric Power Plant (SHP) utilized. values were set HEC-RAS software, and depths simulated. These then compared with those obtained from model. The best value found 0.01. allowed measured closely match simulated HEC-RAS. Furthermore, exhibited same behavior both real cases.
